I don't really get point in purging fanatic-purificators. Yah they are bloodthirsty xenos, but usually as they go on biological ascension, they literally become free pops with good traits. Why just don't give them right purpose in your empire.

IMO the best way to survive early game as diplomacy disabled empires (purifiers, devouring swarm, etc) is to build bastions at chokepoints, making them as big as possible.
