Located on the windy shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago, the facility was established by Max Adler, who in 1928 gave $500,000 to support its construction — nearly $9 million today.Adler is open every day, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., with extended hours during spring break and summer. That means from Memorial Day to Labor Day, you can visit 9 a.m.-6 p.m. We recommend visiting early and during the week to avoid crowds.
