If you have smaller/skinnier hands, the ruger is probably a great pistol, but for me, that 42 is the smallest I can go. Shoot before you buy, I have the 42 and have shot the ruger. I love 9mm and once a single stack 9mm comes out I'll buy it but for summer conceal in Florida the 42 is unbeatable.

The LCP is easier to carry, but I find the 442/642 easier to get a good grip on while pocket carrying, and it's a more powerful and far more reliable weapon. Two things. The LCP-series is just barely larger than the P-32, while the G42 is a lot larger. I found the LCP-series to have very bad ergonomics for other than token carry. Then, the outstanding LCP II appeared. The LCP II has a great 5.5-lbf short-pull SAO trigger, better than any 380ACP pistol I've used in 50 years of fiddling around with 380ACP.

If you intend to actually carry the 42, buy a LC-9s or a Shield and move up in caliber to a full power round. Heck, the Shield is available in .40 S&W and the nearly same sized Springfield Armory XDS in .45 ACP.. In summary, the Glock is simply not efficient, and better choices are readily available.It is much larger and only holds 6 rounds. The LCP Max is significantly smaller in every dimension, but holds 10 or 12! The 42 is almost like shooting a .22lr compared to the recoil of the smaller LCP, but since my only real accuracy issue is along the vertical axis and that only an inch or so at 7 yards.I love the trigger on the lc9s much more than that of the G43, although the trigger reset is a bit longer.
