Steel vs aluminum, I just have the C2s, and use them for carry and training. They have just slightly more muzzle flip than the steel Staccato P. If this is a carry gun, I would vote for Aluminum. Staccato doesn't shoot as flat because it has a higher bore axis, it's heavier, less reliable, if you have normal sized hands you can't actuate the slide lock lever with your firing hand and has a safety which changes the manual of arms and makes it more complicated.I don't see why staccato can't just expand their custom pistol builder. Example, you'd build your pistol from the ground up. 1. Start with grip. P grip, C2 grip, or "X" grip etc. 2. Chose if you want a magwell. 3.Then go to frame. Aluminum, Steel, and have lengths for dust covers. Obviously only certain lengths will work with certain slides etc. 4.It comes down to what you want to do, The XC is a nice range toy, you cant really compete with it in a comp though, it put you in the open class and you are up against true open guns. We've gotten used to glocks, sigs, S&W, etc and they're all typically $700 or less. But if you want a halfway decent 1911 you're spending 1500 at minimum. When you think about it that way the staccato non-comp line is really fairly priced imo.

My question for the group, is the XC worth the extra cost and/or is the C2 or P with a comp going to be very close in performance for over $1000 less? Thanks for the help and info! ...
