Made it with a separate floor plate , initially using screw, but later sprang hook on the floor plate for cleanness. Also reshaped the follower to let it sit higher and work as hold open stop. I have the Charter Arms version and it functions perfectly. It does, however, have a cracked stock where the receiver fits into the "wings". I have it glued and electricians taped, but need a replacement stock. I Googled and found one vendor that has them for $60 and up depending on style. I also looked at Numrich Arms.Simply attach the receiver to the stock by sliding it into a groove and tightening a screw. Then insert the barrel (there is a tab so that you cannot mess it up) and tighten the nut. That’s it, you’re done. Aside from that, you insert a loaded magazine, pull back on the charging handle, and the rifle is ready to fire.

I am looking for the kind that floats and all the parts fit in the stock for storage. It is currently mounted in a wood stock which makes it look like an M1 carbine, which looks good but does not take down easily.The Henry stock should hold the Charter Arms parts just fine, but I don't think the reverse would be true. Keep in mind that the Henry stock is made even wider than the earlier stocks so it can hold the extra mag. It's going to be even harder to align your eye straight behind the rear site.
