Was about 20 degrees outside and from my search that may have triggered it although it has been colder and I did not get it.About 2 weeks ago we were traveling to Savannah with 5th wheel in tow and the "service Def System" message appeared. Truck has 8600 miles. Once the message disappeared and display went back to the vehicle info I scrolled down to the messages and it was gone. Hmmm cool it cleared its self. 2 days later it came back followed by the CEL.The heater circuit is now open so i repaired it myself and reset the codes. I still can't get the service def system to go away. The truck is now in limp mode and has no codes. Any idea how to get it reset without a tech2.
