The Mossberg is a decent gun for the money and you could do worse. Neither is a great choice for light target loads although the SBE II will cycle lighter field loads. Since the SBE II is a little better with lighter loads and is lighter in weight, it more versatile for upland to turkey hunting.e.g. Glock vs. 1911. Which I root for both teams! But all kidding aside, my shotgun experience is 870 Express super mag, Mossberg 590, Winchester Defender 1300, and a Winchester cheapo 14. This gun is probably better that all of them minus the 870.
